Personal & Professional Development supports unit commanders by providing information and guidance to Marines, Sailors, and their families. The goal of this support is mission readiness, improved morale, retention and preparation for life after active-duty service. This is accomplished through personal services including Career Assistance (Transition Assistance Management Program and Family Member Employment Assistance Program, and the Career Resource Center), Education Assistance, Library services, and Resources including Personal Financial Management Program, Relocation Assistance, and general Information and Referral

CAREER ASSISTANCE


Transition Assistance Management Program (TAMP)
TAMP has been established to provide Military Personnel and their family members with guidance, counseling and assistance in exploring their options for civilian employment once leaving active military service.  It is home to a Career Resource Center, mandatory Presep and TAP classes and employment-ready workshops.

Family Member Employment Assistance Program (FMEAP)

Are you a Family Member seeking employment? 
The Family Member Employment Assistance Program is available for you free of charge.  FMEAP provides one-on-one employment assistance counseling to include job referrals, résumé writing assistance, and job search strategies.

The Education Counselors at Education Assistance can assist personnel in starting or completing their journey towards their college degree.  Questions about our core services should be directed to the education center staff. 

Testing
The testing department offers Military Classification Testing,  DANTES Testing, exam proctoring, and eCLEPs and eDSSTs  (in partnership with UNC Wilmington).

RAP assists military service members and their families make a smooth move to and from New River by providing classes, loan locker items, maps and many other resources.   

Personal Financial Management Program (PFMP)

PFMP promotes personal and family financial responsibility, through education and counseling Designed to enhance unit readiness. Classroominstruction is provided to units or groups upon request.
