| Lifestyles, Insights, Networking, Knowledge and Skills (L.I.N.K.S.) Contact: (910) 449-4676 L.I.N.K.S. provides information to all Marines and family members on the resources available and methods for meeting challenges of the military lifestyle. Session’s are available for Marines, spouses, children/teens, and parents/extended family member's of Marines. Life Skills Education and Training Contact: (910) 449-4674 LifeSkills Training provides connection to, or facilitation of, various workshops in areas such as parenting, financial management, stress and anger management, and understanding personality differences. Family Readiness Support and Training Contact: (910) 449-4507 Offers services to assist commands in developing effective readiness programs while helping unit families become self-sufficient. Family Readiness Program Trainer offers training for Command Teams, Family Readiness Officers, Family Readiness Advisors, and Family Readiness Assistants on their roles and responsibilities in the Unit Family Readiness Program. Readiness and Deployment Support Contact: (910) 449-4673 Offers assistance to units by connecting unit Family Readiness Officers (FROs) and commands, assisting with family readiness issues, and delivering pre-, during, and post-deployment presentations. |
MCCS Coordinators Contact: (910) 449-4675 or 449-4749 Coordinators are experts on MCCS services and activities. The coordinator plans, develops, administers, and provides assistance for a balanced program of family readiness, recreational and leisure activities. Coordinators are the one stop shop in obtaining MCCS support. They will work with unit readiness and MCCS services and activities. They are responsible for assisting the Family Readiness Officer and Unit Commander in accessing critical services that will improve morale and mission readiness Family Readiness Officers (FRO’s) Contact your MCCS Coordinator for individual FRO's Actively manage, coordinate and promote all matters pertaining to unit family readiness. Serve as the military point of contact concerning unit family readiness issues. Ensures command policy regarding information flow to families of single Marines is established and supported. FRO’s are familiar with all MCFTB programs. Chaplain’s Religious Education Development Operation (CREDO) Contact: (910) 450-1668 The goal of CREDO is to help people grow toward increased functional ability, spiritual maturity, acceptance of responsibility, and to enhance readiness. CREDO offers 2 & 3-day retreats (personal, spiritual, women’s, marriage, teen and woman warrior), lodging, meals and transportation. ![]() |

| LIFE SKILLS EDUCATION AND TRAINING Lifeskills Training provides a connection to, or facilitation of various workshops that encompass all aspects of the military lifestyle. This program strives to keeps Marines and families informed and equipped with information to successfully thrive in the dynamic and challenging military environment. Please contact the MCFTB Lifeskills Program Trainer for class dates and times. Classes include: ![]() - Family Care Plans - Four Lenses - 7 Habits of Highly Effective Military Families - Premarital - His Needs, Her Needs - Prevention Relationship Enhancement Program (PREP) - Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places - Parenting children & teens - Financial planning - Educational opportunities - Health, cooking & nutrition - and a variety of programs available through the Spouses Learning Series (SLS) Courses are provided through Marine Corps Family Team Building (MCFTB) and are taught or coordinated by the Lifeskills Program Trainer. Lifeskills classes are free, provide free on-site babysitting and are available to all military spouses, service members and anyone with base access. | FAMILY AND READINESS TRAINING | ||||||||||||||||
Command Team Training Provide Unit Commanding Officer and the Family Readiness Command Team information required to run a successful Unit Family Readiness Program. Command Members Training This training is for members of the Command Team who have joined the unit after the initial Command Team Training has occurred. Command Team and Members Training Is a required training that last 2.5 hours and will cover Unit Family Readiness Program Structure, Command Team Roles and Responsibilities, Funding, Communication, Readiness and Deployment Support. Family Readiness Officer Training This Training is for all Civilian Family Readiness Officer, and Deputy Family Readiness Officers appointed to MCAS New River units. This training covers the Unit Family Readiness Program, Funding administration, Volunteer management, and Readiness & Deployment Support as well as New River, Camp Lejeune and Onslow County resources. This is a required training. Family Readiness Advisor Training This volunteer training is for spouses, parents and extended family members appointed to the role of Family Readiness Advisor for the unit. This training covers all aspects of the Advisors role on the Command Team and expectations in the Unit Family Readiness program. Family Readiness Assistant training is required prior to this course. This is a required training for appointed Advisor volunteers. Family Readiness Assistant Training This volunteer training is for spouses, parents and extended family members appointed to the role of Family Readiness Assistant for the unit. This training covers all aspects of the Assistants role and expectations in the Unit Family Readiness program, to include official communication, New River, Camp Lejeune and Onslow County resources. READINESS AND DEPLOYMENT SUPPORT The Readiness and Deployment Support Program (RDST) at Marine Corps Family Team Building, MCAS New River, offers Marine Corps Order mandated training and workshops that are necessary for mission and family readiness. These events are innovative, educational and often just plain fun. Our goals are accomplished by offering briefs, workshops, seminars, and other events at pre-determined points in the deployment cycle. The Readiness and Deployment Support Program is focused on the entire Military Family, Offering services that are designed to reach multiple generations, as well as extended family members. Some of our regular events include: *PRE-DEPLOYMENT BRIEFS provide information to service members and their families in preparation for deployment. *KIDS N DEPLOYMENT Workshops are designed for children with a deployed parent. This workshop offers age appropriate activities that are designed to assist children with processing their thoughts, feelings and struggles. *BEYOND THE BRIEF is a series of workshops centered on deployment topics. *IN THE MIDST is a multi-venue event that offers a celebration for "making it half way" as well as stress relief tips and enhancement tools that assist spouses to feel better prepared to face the "rest" of the deployment. *The KIDS N REUNION Workshop focuses on the unique stresses and struggles that children, youth and teens may encounter before the return of a deployed parent. The workshop offers age appropriate activities and discussion that is designed to educate and assist the participant with adjusting to the return. *The RETURN and REUNION WORKSHOP FOR SPOUSES focus on reintegration, healthy communication, expectations, and other relevant topics.For more information please contact the Readiness and Deployment Specialist Trainer. | MCCS COORDINATORS The Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Coordinator is a single point of contact for the logistical and installation deployment support , marketing, and funding of the unit readiness program . The MCCS Coordinator will assist Family Readiness Officers as they plan, develop, coordinate, administer and provide services in support of unit functions with the various MCCS offices and locations aboard MCAS New River.
