We offer awesome Group Exercise classes that improve your muscle fitness, aerobic fitness, and flexibility no matter what your fitness level is. New River has classes that will help get you in the best shape and FIT TO SERVE. All Aerobics Classes are held in the Group Exercise Room at the new Fitness Center (AS-4400). Group Exercise Schedule
  • Belly Burner - This 30-minute workout focuses on strengthening your core (abs and lower back). This class progresses throughout the quarter, beginning with AB exercises on the floor and advancing to AB exercises on stability balls. There is no aerobic component
  • Core Yoga - This class will include various core conditioning and plates exercises, flowing sequences of poses that focus on strengthening the abdominal back and glutes.
  • Functional Toning - This conditioning program will strengthen and tone your entire body with the use of various equipment. Class also utilizes the stability ball.
  • Iron Yoga - Mind over muscle is that it has the combined benefits of yoga and weight training all in one workout. Increase your flexibility enhance your functional strength, create balance and symmetry sharpen your mental focus.
  • L.I.F.T. - This high-energy group strength training class will tighten, tone and build lean muscle mass. Using barbells and hand weights, you will work every major muscle group in about 60 minutes. The specific exercises change frequently - no plateaus here! The class concludes with an abs/core segment and stretch. BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCED.
  • Low-Impact Aerobics - Keep one foot on the floor!
  • High Impact Aerobics - This class includes running and jumping.

  • Pilates - Pilates is a complete total-body-conditioning workout emphasizing the natural curves of the spine. Pilates exercises increase the range of motion of the joints which in turn give you a more flexible body.
  • Traditional Dance - Inspired routine.
  • Step Aerobics - Choreographed routines, stepping up and down on a rectangular platform. A total body conditioning class!
  • Step It Up - A basic introductory class intended for those who have never taken a total body conditioning class.
  • Spinning - Indoor cycling classes for a low-impact, high intensity cardio workout. Experience the best sweat you've ever had while burning 400-600 calories. Indoor cycling classes. If you’re new to indoor cycling, we invite you to come early so your instructor can give you some pointers! BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCED.
  • Zumba Fitness - High Energy Dance Class with Latin based music. Thighs, Abs, and Glutes are the main focus. Appropriate for all levels.
