Real Colors/Real Stress

Open to ages 6-12 (must have completed kindergarten). Come and join our National Accredited Summer Explosion program. We will provide a safe, supervised, healthy, age-appropriate environment while you work. With hands-on learning experiences there will never be a dull moment. Activities vary from field trips to special events, and more. Summer Explosion is located at the MCCS New River Youth Activities Center, Bldg. AS 612. Being a Water Safety Instructor is a fun and meaningful job that’s in high demand, and Red Cross Certification is recognized nationwide so you can work anywhere in the United States. Water Safety Instructor Class

Open to all active duty and their guests 18 and over, this trip costs $50 and includes transportation, food, and a great show. Register at the New River SMP Center by May 21. A minimum of eight paid registrations are required by May 17 for this event togo. Call 449-5145 for more information.

Babysitter's Training is an American Red Cross Certification class. If your are between the ages of 11 and 18 years, and would like to acquire the knowledge, skills, and confidence to care for infants and school-aged children, this class is for you. The training combines video, activities, hands-on training and discussions for a complete learning experience. The babysitter's course helps you interview for a babysitting job, choose safe and age-appropriate toys and games, learn diapering and feeding techniques, handle bedtime issues, and learn tips for having a safe babysitting experience. We are now also offering Pediatric CPR and First Aid with this class. This class has a non-refundable $45 registration fee due by May 11. For more information or to register, call 449-6711.

Healthy Homes/Healthy Children

L.I.N.K.S. for Marine parents and extended family members focuses on parents and the extended family new to the Marine Corps community. The program offers an orientation to the Marine Corps lifestyle, helping the participant better understand the uniquechallenges military life often presents. Topics include: Factors to consider, Permits and Licenses, Developing a business plan, tax information, financing sources, where to get assistance, advantages/disadvantages of owning a business. How to Start A Small Business

Learn about your children's personality and temperament and ways of better understanding and communicating with them.
