Babysitter's Training is an American Red Cross Certification class. If your are between the ages of 11 and 18 years, and would like to acquire the knowledge, skills, and confidence to care for infants and school-aged children, this class is for you. The training combines video, activities, hands-on training and discussions for a complete learning experience. The babysitter's course helps you interview for a babysitting job, choose safe and age-appropriate toys and games, learn diapering and feeding techniques, handle bedtime issues, and learn tips for having a safe babysitting experience. We are now also offering Pediatric CPR and First Aid with this class. This class has a non-refundable $45 registration fee due by June 29. For more information orto register, call 449-6711.

Mentors are needed for he Drug Education For Youth (DEFY) program. This is a 2-phase prevention program for kids ages 9-12 that lasts from July 2012 to May 2013. Mentors take this training to prepare for the upcoming DEFY program, which is an 8-day non-residential camp in the summer and monthly meeting throughout the school year. This is a three hour class to educate parents about the possible impact of divorce on children when they are coping with the painful and agonizing breakup of their family.
